Thanks for the comment Amin, but did you miss the point? The theme for the contest that birthed this story was living with Covid, isolating with Covid, surviving Covid. Yes, you’re correct I could have written a story that didn’t include mentioning Covid, or the political forces that exacerbated it. I could have written a story that ignored the real deaths.
But it wouldn’t have been a living with Covid story.

You said Covid doesn't exist in your story book world. I say, Covid doesn't exist anywhere! It's mostly just lies, with everything under the sun (heart and vascular disease, cancer, etc.) being lumped together and called Covid.
