Ativan for me keeps me aware, but just shuts off the caring part of my brain. I take one, about an hour prior to boarding and everything is fine.

Should not be an issue for you (depending on your dosages). The slight risk of serotonin syndrome increases as the dosages do. Your doctor knows what is best for you, so be sure to let them know if you start to have any odd symptoms (which you probably won t). Buspirone is a great drug to shut off my mind at night so I can sleep.
