It was way cheaper at the time when both were offered to as I don't have medical insurance or prescription insurance. long term... Vyvanse... u dont have the drastic mood changes once adderrall is depleted... V is broken down in liver, so it lasts longer & if taken correctly u get a steady stream of medicine... but 70 mg is way to high to start on... it will make u sick to ur stomach. He said that for the most part, the dosing of the two medications is very similar. I switched from 40 mg of Vyvanse (2-20mg capsules at the same time), to 10 mg tablets of Adderall 4 times a day (10mg every 4 hours or so = 40mg total).Since Vyvanse is formulated for an extended release, it's meant to benefit you for the whole day. This is great for someone who responds to the medication in a way that is intended. However, my issue was finding the right dose. The 40 mg of Vyvanse was seeming to cause me anxiety, while taking one 20 mg was not enough to get me through the day. Also, it seemed to be taking longer and longer to get into my system each day. So about a week ago I switched to the Adderall. Expand... Adderall is a fast and short acting drug. Therefore, you have to take it every 4 hours or so to continue to benefit from it. My doctor's reasoning was that if I have a day with more anxiety, it will be out of my system in a few hours rather than last the entire
