Certain factors can raise your risk for these side effects, including past or current peptic ulcer, bleeding problems, serious liver disease, recent heart bypass surgery, heart disease, or recent heart attack. Your doctor may monitor your asthma symptoms closely if they prescribe celecoxib.Heart failure: Taking celecoxib can worsen heart failure. If they do prescribe celecoxib, they’ll likely monitor your heart failure symptoms closely during treatment.High blood pressure: Celecoxib can increase blood pressure. If you have high blood pressure, talk with your doctor about the risks and benefits of taking celecoxib. If they prescribe the medication, they may want you to closely monitor your blood pressure during treatment.Kidney condition: If you have a kidney condition such as chronic kidney disease, talk with your doctor about whether celecoxib treatment is safe for you.
