Ping clubs give Lottie a real boost

Lottie Hopkins from Cottesmore Golf Club, Sussex says her new set of Ping Prodi-G clubs, awarded by the Trust, has boosted her confidence and is making a huge difference to her game.

The talented nine-year-old has three siblings – and two of them also play golf, one playing for the county and the other looking as if they will too soon.

‘It means the world to Lottie having her own clubs. Something that is especially for her – not handed down. Having three out four children playing golf, trying to keep up with the newest trends can prove difficult financially so this really helps,’ says mum Sheree Hopkins.

The new set of clubs is helping support Lottie’s enjoyment and development in golf.

Her first event of the year at Chichester Golf Club, for the Sussex development tour saw her win the under-nine’s trophy – a title she has held since 2023.

Lottie loves playing golf. She got her handicap last year after entering the Faldo futures and finishing in the top ten girls in the age seven-to-eight category. She is working hard to reduce her handicap and the new clubs are helping with this.

‘She is a keen golfer,’ adds Sheree. ‘She looks up to her older brother and helps support her younger brother. Golf has become a family thing we do together.’

‘Lottie has been complimented on her golf ability over this last year and now the Ping clubs are changing her game for the better. ‘

Before the new clubs, Lottie was using as set of USA kids’ clubs. The new Ping clubs are making her feel as if she really looks the part. ‘She has grown in confidence knowing these are new, for her and Ping. She looks the part now. Of course, talent isn’t based on brands and appearances, but the new clubs have given Lottie extra confidence and pride.’
