Golf helps to build Freddie’s confidence

Freddie Anderson, age nine from Essex, started golfing at a school holiday club hosted by Get Golfing, and loved it straight away.

He said: “It has been so amazing to find something I am good at and really enjoy. Before being awarded with the Ping Prodi G clubs, I thought it might be a while before I could get clubs of my own, as I would have to wait till my Mum was able to buy some.”

The new clubs are allowing Freddie to practise more – he’s also having more fun using his own clubs rather than borrowing some each time he wants to play. He plans to enter competitions and play as much as he can at Warley Park Golf Club.

Golf has become a lifeline for Freddie, who is home-educated after bullying at school over his dyslexia.

He added: “It really has helped my confidence which was low. I get a real boost from playing golf and being recognised as a good player by the coach and people at the club.

“I am really committed to the sport. Golfing has made me feel included, and these clubs will allow me to play and enjoy the sport more – making me feel even more part of the golfing community.”
