Trust launches Captain’s Charity fundraising pack
England Golf Trust has launched a new Captain’s Charity package to help adults and juniors with their fundraising. It hopes this will encourage more captains to choose the Trust as their annual charity.
The Trust has been helping young golfers with grants and bursaries for over 40 years, making a real difference to their development and enjoyment of the game.
The Adult Captain’s fundraising pack includes a fourball at Woodhall Spa Golf Club or a £250 Your Golf Travel voucher, some smaller prizes along with a banner and collection boxes for the club house and a polo shirt for the captain.
For the Junior Captain a £50 all4one gift voucher along with the smaller prizes, banner and collection boxes for the club house and a polo shirt for themselves.
Eighteen-year-old Ruby Reeve is typical of the youngsters the Trust has helped. In 2024 she received a grant for coaching which resulted in her reducing her handicap by over half from 13.7 to just 6.8.
Without the support she might not have developed her game to its full potential. The talented golfer from Thetford Golf Club in Norfolk used her grant for lessons to work on her swing and short game, which has made a huge different to her golf
‘The money has helped me to cut my handicap by half. I then had the chance to play in some better competitions, including the English Girls’ Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship at Royal Norwich. I don’t think I would have been able to play in these without the coaching funded by the Trust grant.’
Run by volunteer trustees, the Trust does not receive public funding, so everything it does is made possible by the of generous individuals and organisations.
Chair of the Trust Moira Page said ‘your support will help to make a real difference to the lives of young golfers, so we are asking captains to please consider us as your charity.’
