A grant from the Trust is helping Curtis on his way
Curtis Ritchie, 21, is working towards turning professional, with support from his home club Telford Golf Club.

A grant from the Trust is helping him on his way and the money has contributed to his coaching, entry fees and travel costs.
Curtis recently gained a degree in International Business Management with Professional Golf from The Tournament Golf College in Cornwall, who are also based in Portugal for the winter.
“I have been aiming to turn professional for a few years and, ideally, become a full-time coach at some point,” said Curtis.
He practises almost every day and is keen to gain tournament experience to help with his coaching.
“The aim is to return my handicap down to scratch or plus-figures again, then I may turn professional, start my coaching business and look at playing in some professional events.”
Curtis started playing through some junior sessions at Hale Golf Club with PGA Professional Richard Booth. He was a regular member of the Shropshire & Herefordshire County Boys’ Team from Under 14 level to Under 18s.
He admits: “Playing golf is simply the most important thing in my life. The variety of courses is always exciting, and I especially thrive in poor weather conditions! It never bothers me because I just want to be out there doing what I love.”
